B. Instructions for an outing:
1. Preparation of the outing:
- Ensure that all the necessary administrative papers have been filled in and proper authorisation been granted before informing students and parents.
- Secure the agreement of the colleagues that teach the students on that particular date. Make sure you have enough accompanying adults ( legal provision). Request in advance the number of cold lunches to be prepared for boarders and semi-boarders.
- Draft all the necessary documents for communication and organisation.
- Ask for parental authorisation and have the documents before the outing. Check that the students are fully insured for such an outing.
- Give the appropriate service or person the parents’ autorisation documents and list of students’names.
- Make sure that you take the list of students’names with their emergency phone numbers with you on the outing.
2. The outing:
1.Before starting:
- Collect the cold lunches
- Make sure you take the first aid kit
- Call the register and notify the absentees to the relevant person
- Bathing is forbidden.
- In case of an accident or sickness, the teacher must:
- First ensure that the student(s) get the necessary medical care as qucikly as possible:

- Inform the head of the school: Tel: ..................
- Submit an official report to the Head of School detailing the accident circumstances and two testimonies within 24 hours
- In case you return later than planned, telephone the school so that families are notified and reassured.
3. What to do in case of a snake bite:
The best prevention: have the students wear long socks and high boots.
- What to do immediately:
- Calm, reassure, and have the victim lie down in a quiet place ;
- Make sure the victim has been bitten by carefully examining the affected area - if bitten, the Area will be red and painful, with two small punctures
- Call the local emergency number and give the victim’s age, location, time of the bite, and access (for helicopter or 4x4 truck)
- While waiting for rescue:
- If the bite is on a limb, carefully position the victim to prevent or slow down blood rushing to the heart
- Wash the wound profusely with an antiseptic solution
- Apply and regularly renew a cold compress on the bite to slow down the course of the venom and reduce its toxicity.
- Keep the victim warm, reassure and DO NOT give any drinks (certainly NOT alcohol)
