Landscape chapter
The “Landscape chapter” is a tool that helps students to observe some aspects of scenery and life during a walk along the river. It enables them to reflect on the river status, its life, and human interaction with it. The students are required to note down some observations about elements affecting the quality of the landscape and the aim is to collect ideas in order to enhance the river as a landscape and recreational element in our lives.
We provide an approach where the items are clustered in sub-chapters, providing a broad overview of the landscape, from the valley to the river itself.
No scores are provided for these data, as they do cannot determine an exact level of quality. It’s up to you to discuss the data with this aim.
Of course, it is possible to fill-in only the data you are able to collect even if the set is not complete.
It is also possibile to include drawings, pictures, films, or interviews when uploading your data into your Book of the River. Please note that you need to register in order to fill-in the collected data.
Links to the Glossary are provided for most significant words. Furthermore you will find some background information in the “Library”.
Contact a school in your or in another country, in order to comment together the landscape situation about your rivers. Please look for a partner under “School List” or “Notice Board”.
Refer to the Instructions for this chapter to have more details about the data collection.
