Petition
A petition is a formal request signed by many people. By providing their name and signature, those people demand a certain issue to be dealt with politically (e.g. on a communal basis).
Create a signature sheet with the following structure:
- Title of the issue

Text body consisting of well-founded demands which provide solutions to the problems that you have identified in the waterbodies in your municipality
- Table in which the family name, first name, street name and number, postal code, city and signature may be entered

Courage, patience and perseverance are necessary for talking to strangers in the street and for asking people to provide their signature. Always be friendly, even if you are confronted with a negative reaction.
A thorough knowledge of the issue is important in order to answer questions competently.
The more signatures you collect, the more significant your demands will appear and the higher the chances will be that they will be satisfied.
The filled-in signature sheets may best be presented to the municipal councillor when the local media are present on site.
